Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to what people ask most.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free, has no ads and asks for no account or registration. If it helps you and you want to support the project, the heart button takes you to a direct message on Instagram.

Is my GPX file uploaded to a server?

No. Your file is processed in your own browser and is not sent or stored anywhere. The original file is never modified: a new one is generated. The only things requested from the internet are the map images and, anonymously and without cookies, a visit counter.

What kind of GPX do I need?

A one-way route, from the start to the destination. The app makes the out-and-back for you. If you upload a route that is already out-and-back, the maximum distance it offers will be twice the real one.

What is the maximum distance I can generate?

Twice the base route, because the way back repeats the path. With a 22 km route you can generate up to 44 km. If you ask for more, the app explains it and tells you how much you need.

Why is 21K 21.00 km and not 21.0975?

Because the shortcuts use round distances. You can type any other distance (for example 21.0975) in the distance field.

Can I use miles?

Yes. Tap the km | mi button under the map’s zoom controls. Distance and pace are converted, and the marks in the GPX become mile marks.

Does it work offline?

You can install it on your phone and open it without a connection. The map background does need the internet; without it the route is still drawn and the GPX is still generated.

Does it work with GPX files from Garmin, Strava, Coros or Amazfit?

It is designed to read files from those platforms and ignores their extensions. Even so, we have not been able to test every model: if a file does not work for you, message us on Instagram and we will look at it.

What does the GPX I download contain?

The path (latitude, longitude and elevation), the route name and, if you want, the kilometer marks and the organizer’s points. It carries no times, heart rate or personal data.

How does my watch load the route?

By importing it in your brand’s app or platform and syncing the watch. See the guide to loading the GPX on your watch.

How do I add my club’s route to the Routes list?

Tap Contribute a route: it explains what to send and opens a message on Instagram. Every route is reviewed before it is published and always carries the credit of whoever made it.

Can I put the app on my club’s website?

Yes. In the ⋯ menu (top right) choose Embed on your website: it gives you a code to paste into your page.
